Sodium Citrate

About: Sodium Citrate is often paired with Citric Acid in a formula to create a buffer solution. Buffer solutions are useful in cosmetics where a key ingredient might become unstable if the pH shifts too far from a starting point. This can be the case in AHA products. A Sodium Citrate / Citric Acid buffer will usually keep a product at a pH of between 5.6 and 6.2 depending on the concentration of each ingredient.
