Indigo (Nil Awariya) Powder

About: Indigo (Blue Indigo) powder is a natural dye that is derived from the leaves of the Indigofera tinctoria plant. It has been used for centuries to dye fabrics, yarns, and other materials. Indigo powder can be used to create a range of shades from pale blue to dark navy depending on the preparation method and the mordant used. In addition to being used for textiles, indigo powder is also used in traditional hair dyeing and body art.

Indigo powder has also been traditionally used in Ayurvedic and Chinese Medicine for various ailments such as skin diseases, wounds, and as a blood purifier. Note: Before use, indigo powder is usually mixed with other ingredients such as salt, lime, or other herbs in order to activate the color and make it more useable.
