Whole Cardamom (Elettaria cardamomum) adds a citrusy-sweet flavor and a floral aroma, when used as a spice. Cardamom is the dried fruit of a plant in the ginger family. The green triangular pods hold the black seeds, which are finely ground to obtain Cardamom powder.
Cardamom adds its enticing flavor and aroma to spice blends and curries. It is also used as a baking spice in cakes, cookies and buns.
The Cardamom pod’s outer hull could be removed after cooking.
