Sodium Stearate

About: Sodium Stearate is a vegetable-derived surfactant and is supplied as a fine white powder.

Uses: Sodium Stearate is used as a stabilizer / thickener that helps harden soaps and deodorants, allowing a wide variety of shapes and sizes and removing the need for unnecessary packaging and synthetic preservatives. It also has opacifying properties that give the foam a creamy white appearance. It is best to add the powder to hot water (70-80C) with mixing to ensure the best results.

Usage: 1-20%  (up to 8% for leave-on applications).
